Solar Glare in the Winter with the Sun Low in the Sky can make driving dangerous

Sunglasses are often associated with spring break and summer time. I mean – who wears them during winter, right?  But as it turns out, sunglasses aren’t only a summer accessory.  They can also be worn during winter! Here are five reasons why you should wear sunglasses during winter.

1. Protect your eyes from the sun

Even if its winter, the sun wont stop shining.  Ice and snow can cause light to reflect back which can impair vision.  Reflective glare is dangerous especially when driving or skiing.  Wearing good, high quality sunglasses can keep your eyes comfortable and shield them from harmful reflections.  Sunglasses may not totally eliminate the glare, but they can greatly reduce it.

2. Protect your eyes from the harsh winter wind

When its winter the biting cold can be brutal.  Protect your eyes from the biting cold by wearing a pair of good sunglasses.  You’ll not only look fashionable, you will be able to give your eyes the protection and care that they need as well.

3. Protect your eyes from dust and dirt

The environment contains dust particles and dirt that can get into our eyes if we are not careful. Sunglasses can act as a barrier to shield your eyes from harmful natural elements.  Some brands that feature lenses which repel dust and dirt.

4. Protect your eyes from UV rays

Constant exposure to UV rays can damage your eyesight and lead to cataract formation in old age.  If you are always out and your eyes are constantly exposed to the harmful rays of the sun, they can be damaged fast.

5. Improve vision

Too much glare can damage your eyes and impair vision.  Wearing a good pair of sunglasses can provide protection and improve your eyesight.  There are also lenses that optimize one’s vision by allowing you to see clearer.

Although sunglasses are a popular summertime accessory, they can also be utilized during winter.  Is it winter time? Whip out those sunglasses and protect your eyes today.
